Since their immune system is still developing, children are prone to many illnesses. Even minor illnesses can cause your child discomfort. As part of our Fit Life Pediatrics family, we’re here to help. In case of emergency, your first call should always be 9-1-1, but there are many non-urgent yet still uncomfortable health issues where we can help.
If your child is ill, please give us a call before coming into the office. We may be able to see you via telehealth for a quick consultation, or find an appointment time during the day so you won’t need to wait. When you do arrive, we ask that you and your child wait in your car and call us from the parking lot as this will help keep all of our patients safe. We will gather as much information as we can by phone, and then take you directly into a sanitized exam room as soon as the doctor is ready. This will make the appointment much more comfortable for your child.
What To Let Us Know:
When you call us, in addition to your child’s name and age, we will want to understand their symptoms, when they first started, and how long they lasted. Vomiting, cough and diarrhea are all important symptoms to track. We will ask your child’s current temperature and if that has changed. We will ask about any other changes in your child’s condition, as well as what treatment has been tried. If you administered any medications, please make a note of the dosage and time. The more you can tell us, the faster the doctor will be able to diagnose the issue and recommend a treatment plan.
