ABOUT THE DOCTOR:
Our Medical Director, Doctor Damaris Mafut was born in Cuba and raised in Miami. She graduated from Miami Coral Park High School and then went on to attend the University of Miami where she earned a degree in Microbiology and Immunology with minors in Chemistry, Psychology and French. Following her lifelong dream of becoming a physician, Dr. Mafut then enrolled at NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After graduating she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to complete her Pediatric residency at the University of Florida Shands Hospital. She returned to Florida in 2012 after working for 2 years in Dallas, Texas, to continue working in her hometown of Miami. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Mafut has been in private practice since 2017. Dr. Mafut enjoys gardening, reading for pleasure, travel and many outdoor activities with her husband.
